Trauma Statement
-
This trauma statement speaks to trauma that has had a lasting neurological effect on a traumatised person, and the way they process their experiences, not what people sometimes call trauma, ie. the "micro" traumas that we are all subject to in day to day life.

-
Our trauma-informed, 6-12 month certified programs, are intended to teach you to understand how to support someone in their sexuality through talking, mindfulness and embodiment practices. We use different modes of teaching in order to facilitate the best way we can, such as video content, written content, visual examples of live naked bodies, guest lecturers and live monthly or weekly calls.

-
These courses are not a training on how to treat trauma, nor a space to work through your own trauma. If you believe that you hold unresolved trauma, it is important that you find support, have a sound sense of safety and agency over your decision making, and cultivate your tools to ground yourself in triggering circumstances prior to enrolling in the course, as the course covers all topics of sexuality in depth, including sexual abuse which may be triggering to some people.

-
For people who do feel that they are in a space to take on the training, upon completion you will have learned what trauma is, how to recognise when a client is experiencing a traumatic response, and how to best support them/refer them on. You will also have built up a strong referral list for clients who have not had support with their trauma, or who need additional support while working with you. There are also educative materials included in this course for those of you who are qualified to work with trauma with some extra supportive tools with our particular line of work in sex coaching or yoni massage.

-
These courses are designed by and include guest lecturers who have extensive experience in supporting people who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, therefore you will have seen and will continue to see throughout the courses a focus on creating safety and agency in our practice, which ensures that students and clients are held in a safe space.

If you would like to work in trauma, a possible avenue could be: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, graduate work in counselling or psychotherapy, a training that focuses on working with trauma.

Disclaimer + Inclusivity
The courses at the Yonilicious Academy were created in 2017, and while Kiki has come from a queer and gender fluid family, has done extensive studies in gender and inclusivity, and herself feels agender, when she first created the program she was only working with cis-women, and the courses still in many ways reflect that.
Therefore, Kiki is currently in the process of an overhaul on the course content in order to make the language more gender neutral and inclusive. As Kiki is just one person, this going to take a lot of time, though she will be working as hard as she can to get it done as quickly as possible.
I, the undersigned, understand that by either submitting this form, continuing to use this website, or enrolling in any Yonilicious courses, retreats, trainings, coaching sessions, or lessons, I understand and agree to the Terms and Conditions of Participation and all the points listed in the Terms of Service, Trauma Statement, Disclaimer, and Inclusivity Statements, and any other writings as listed on this webpage. I agree to waive, discharge claims and release from liability Yonilicious. I understand these terms may change and will check regularly for updates and while a student of Yonilicious.
